GENERAL and TEAM UPDATES: SNAC State of the Cooperative Program Announced!
2026 is shaping up to be a very exciting year of positive change for the SNAC Cooperative! There have been many developments and exciting plans hatched for various aspects of SNAC, including new potential description groups and partnerships, outreach plans, updates to controlled vocabularies, and more! Below are a few teasers, but we want to hold these for our State of the Cooperative event!
State of the Cooperative
The State of the Cooperative is scheduled for March 11, 2026 from 12-5 pm EST and we are entering the final few weeks of open registration! The last time this event was held was in September 2023 and so much has happened since then and we are in the process of planning a program chocked full of news, plans and recaps of our productive 2025 and more since we’ve missed some time. See the program below!

IndigenizeSNAC News
We are very excited to announce that the Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) dataset has successfully been uploaded to SNAC after a collaborative effort led by our Consultant and Advisory Board member, Veronica Pipestem (Otoe-Missouria), and Chair of our Technical Infrastructure Working Group, Maristella Feustle (UNT)! This is a huge advancement in the cultural-technical realm of SNAC and shows promise for other projects for the IndigenizeSNAC mission and others.
