TEAM UPDATE: IndigenizeSNAC received grant from the Mellon Foundation!
We are proud to report that the IndigenizeSNAC project at University of Maryland College Park has been awarded $3.63 million by the Mellon Foundation!
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation that funds educational projects in higher education, museums, art conservation, performing arts and environmental conservation. This 3-year grant will help IndigenizeSNAC to continue work towards expanding the platform to better serve Indigenous community research needs. Previously funded by the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian program through the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), funds are allocated to cover graduate assistants and staff wages, necessary technology components, and honoraria for the Indigenous Advisory Board.
More details are forthcoming and we are excited to continue on with this work!
